Jared I. Edwards, with Tyler Smith, formed Smith Edwards Architects, p.c. For over thirty-five years Jared Edwards has provided leadership in preserving historic resources. He serves many institutions, both of regional and national significance. Out of recognition for his skills and accomplishments in historic preservation and restoration, he was elected a member of the College of Fellows of the AIA in 1986. He was presented a Special Achievement Design Award for the Old State House Project from AIA/Connecticut in 1996. The Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism awarded Smith Edwards Architects, Jared Edwards and Tyler Smith, the 2009 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation.
